Most of them fly out at dusk and feed all night until right at dawn. They are attracted by warmth and carbon dioxide--both of which are given off by the human body. Awake, you can defend yourself, but asleep, you are defenseless against these tiny felons. A simple mosquito net in good condition protects well and inexpensively for 2-4 children.
