Problem

It comes from a lifetime of having no shoes. Some cases do come from parasites, but these come from the silica in the soil working its way into the body and clogging the lymphatic system. It slowly, surely makes the body fluids stay in the feet--causing scarring and keloids. The only remedy is surgery. The condition is painful aside from being ugly to look at. And all because they have no shoes.

The Gift

We will make the surgery to correct these women's legs possible. In addition, we will give shoes to the children and adolescents--and try to start a program in the community that will educate the children in the schools on the importance of wearing shoes and why. We want to start a trade program on making shoes and are looking for the right person to set up a shop to train the boys in leathercraft.
