Problem

What if you were in labor and somehow knew you needed help? What if the only help for miles was a Basic Clinic like the one pictured-and the nearest hospital with a doctor was a 4-8 hour drive over roads that are impassable by night during the rainy season? The Clinic are frequently staffed with the equivalent of LPN's or Medical Assistants and no one else. One had no medications. One had an environmental engineer as staff. Would you want your baby born here? What would your choice be?

The Gift

Your gifts will be used to help train nurses as midwives and to purchase equipment (such as warmers, scales, suction-assist devices, fetal monitors, etc.) that will enable them to meet the needs of expectant mothers, post-partum mothers and newborns. We encourage breast feeding as the best form of nutrition for a baby, but recognize,too, that the proper nutrition of the mother is vital. CCCI always endeavors to use your gifts in the manner that you designate.
